The Viper V1 was a smash hit and it was time for an overhaul of upgrades. First, we upgraded the steel to Crucible 154CM (HRC 61), and added more size and heft to the build. The DNA of the V1 is still there, but now we have a meaner Viper to contend with. The tanto blade has been changed to have a centered and sharp pointed tip for piercing with the tanto angles overall being sharper for better slicing ability. We kept the signature cutouts in the spine and added jimping on top of those cutouts extending 3/4 of the spine, the result is an incredible texture for your thumb for non-slip hard-use leverage or index finger for detailed cutting. The G10 scales have a milled crosshatch pattern with contoured chamfering, offering comfortable ergonomics for all size hands. The Viper V2 is a borderline XL knife, the blade is 3.75" with a roomy 4" grip. We also added a deep carry clip held by three torx screws, left and right carry options with a movable G10 filler that will keep your scales flush. If you're looking for a big, badass, tanto EDC knife without going full XL, the Viper V2 is ready to strike.
The 3.75 inch blade has a tumbled DLC graywash look with 4mm thick 154CM blade stock with Coyote scales, it rides on ceramic bearings, smooth, snappy deployment with drop-shut action. The tanto grind comes to a nasty, sharp point for excellent piercing ability, and the angled tanto meets a straight edge for excellent slicing. We took jimping to a new level and milled a grippy texture on top of the cut-out spine, this is truly a non-slip knife blade. We also added jimping on the flipper tab, this design will lock into your hand with comfort and stability. 154CM is a steel developed and made by Crucible Industries, this steel has incredible edge retention, corrosion resistance and toughness but also easy to sharpen, making it an excellent choice for a tactical knife. We stamped "Crucible 154CM" as a shout-out to the maker of this incredible knife steel that has stood the test of time.
The Viper V2 has a crosshatch pattern with contoured G10 edges giving you a comfortable and grippy feeling in your hand, even gloved hands will fit easily and securely. The Coyote G10 scales are locked in with non-strip T8 screws, and we added a G10 filler to keep the non-clip side looking and feeling smooth.
Being a larger EDC knife, the Viper V2 has some real fidget factor chops...the deployment is smooth, snappy and satisfying with drop-shut action as the blade rides on buttery ceramic bearings. We added jimping on the flipper tab which guarantees surefire action and lock-up every time. Flip it once, you'll be hooked.
Like all our flipper knives, the pocket clip is deep, this knife will ride low in your pocket but always ready for quick deployment. We made the screws on the clip flush with the handle, easy in and out of the pocket, no snags and secured the clip with three torx screws. Also, after many requests, we added a G10 filler piece on the left carry side to keep the scales flush and smooth.
