4. Cookies and Tracking

Cookies and similar technologies support the shopping cart, checkout, site security, preferences, analytics, and advertising. Essential cookies are required for the website to work and are always on. Functional, Analytics, and Targeting/Advertising cookies are optional and are controlled through our cookie settings.

Our website uses BigCommerce for ecommerce services and Gorgias for customer support. Where you allow analytics or advertising cookies, the providers involved may use information about your activity to measure site performance, personalize content, and measure advertising, including activity over time and across other websites.

Some privacy laws treat certain advertising-related disclosures as a "sale" or "sharing" of personal information, even when no money changes hands. You can opt out at any time by setting Targeting/Advertising to No in your cookie settings, or by emailing offgrid@offgridknives.com with the subject "Privacy Opt-Out."

5. Your Choices

Cookie settings: When you first visit, our cookie banner lets you Accept All Cookies, Reject All, or open Settings to choose Yes or No for Functional, Analytics, and Targeting/Advertising, then select Save. To change your choices later, use the "Manage Website Data Collection Preferences" link near the bottom of any page.
Browser controls: You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings. Some site features may not work without them, and you may need to set your preferences again after clearing cookies or switching browsers or devices.
Do Not Track: Our website does not currently respond to Do Not Track browser signals. To limit tracking, use the cookie settings described above.
Marketing emails: Use the unsubscribe link in any promotional email or contact us. You will still receive messages about your orders, returns, warranty requests, and account.

6. Your Privacy Rights

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, or delete your personal information, receive a portable copy of it, opt out of certain uses, and appeal our decision on a request.

To make a request, email offgrid@offgridknives.com with "Privacy Request" in the subject. Include the email address used for your orders or account. Do not send passwords or card details.

For access, correction, or deletion requests, we may need to verify your identity. We do not require identity verification to opt out of sale or sharing. An authorized agent may submit a request on your behalf with proper authorization.

We respond within the time required by law and will not discriminate against you for exercising your rights. Some records may be kept after a deletion request for legal, tax, warranty, security, or dispute-related reasons.

7. Data Retention

We keep personal information only as long as needed for the purposes described in this policy, including order history, tax and accounting records, warranty support, and legal obligations. After that, we delete or de-identify it.

8. Security

We use reasonable safeguards to protect personal information and limit access to people and providers who need it. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure.

9. Children's Privacy

Our website is intended for adults and is not directed to children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us personal information, contact us and we will take appropriate action, including deletion.
