We took the best selling Stinger XL blade shape and geometry, and applied it to the Rapid Fire body, creating a fast action spear point blade with the famous Rapid Fire overbuilt design. The Stinger XL quickly became a best seller and the Off-Grid customers love the spear point blade shape. It was a natural progression to drop this blade onto a Rapid Fire. The Rapid Fire Stinger blade shape is slightly wider and shorter than the XL due to the different geometry, which creates a very robust spear point blade that's built for hard-use in all conditions. We used Cryogenic D2 blade steel, the same steel as our robust Tracker-X2 and Ridgeback fixed blade knives. D2 is an extremely tough steel that is very close to stainless, excellent corrosion resistance, incredible edge retention, holding an edge even after tons of hard-use. To enhance the benefits of D2 even more, we used a Cryo treatment and coated it with a tumbled Titanium Nitride (TINI) coating. The benefits the cryogenic process: Additional corrosion resistant properties, increased durability, extremely scratch and peel resistant, non-reflective, and looks pretty badass in our opinion.
If it ain't broke...our Rapid Fire elongated honeycomb texture has been a favorite for our Rapid Fire customers, so why change a good thing? If you've never handled a Rapid Fire grip, it's very comparable to the beefy ZT (Zero Tolerance) 0303 knife, bottom line, it's a comfortable and confident four finger grip, with or without gloves. Our Rapid Fire knives are on the large side of EDC, but they don't carry as such. The Rapid Fire knives ride deep in your pocket, the clip can be worn left or right, tip-up carry. With a .4375" thickness, you'll forget it's there...until you need it.
We added grippy jimping in multiple key areas, on the spine and two places on the G10, for your thumb and for a non-slip area at the back.
