We used Cryogenic D2 steel with full tang construction creating a tough, strong fixed blade in a small package. The Hoglet is designed for anyone who wants to carry a fixed blade as their EDC (everyday carry). It's also a perfect tool to use at your campsite and makes an excellent food prep kitchen knife. We used G10 scales for durability and strength with an ergonomic handle that melts into your hand, plenty of finger guard, and most large hands will get a solid four finger grip. Once you take hold of the Hoglet, your hand will lock into the comfortable "S" curve design, your thumb will land on the generous jimping, and you'll be ready to cut till' the cows come home. The Hoglet comes with a secure Kydex sheath with the Off-Grid Quick-Clip belt attachment, vertical or horizontal carry. We also made the sheath compatible with the Tek-Lok Belt System. If you're looking for an overbuilt, hard-use, fat belly fixed blade in a tight versatile package, you found it in the Hoglet.
What can we say? Off-Grid loves cleavers and fat belly blades, and the Hoglet is no exception. This chubby 'little' guy was born to cut all day long, and our D2 will stay sharp even with tons of hard-use. We cryogenically treated the D2 which enhances the excellent characteristics in D2 steel such as: durability, toughness, edge retention, strength, and corrosion resistance. The finish is a non reflective tumbled stonewash.
The Hoglet has excellent ergonomics offering an extremely comfortable and safe grip whether you're sharpening a stick, or cutting into your steak dinner. The handle fills your hand with a confident four finger grip, palm swell and grippy no-slip jimping exactly where you need it, directly under your thumb for maximum leverage. Customize your Hoget by dropping a lanyard on the handle.
