WE SUPPORT OURVETERANS & COPSThe Alpha-Dog, simply put, is built like an absolute tank. Full tang construction with a fat belly blade is matched with a XL handle. The Alpha-Dog's blade is made with 5mm thick Cryogenic D2 blade steel (same steel used in our Tracker-X fixed blades), sharp and ready for work right out of the box. We used G10 scales for durability and strength with an ergonomic handle that fits large to extra large hands with or without gloves. The Alpha-Dog is basically equivalent to Thor's Hammer. Off-Grid designed the Kydex sheath with an easy thumb-ramp release & detachable nylon/Velcro button lock belt loop. We made the sheath tight and secure but not too tight so you can deploy the Alpha-Dog using one hand and a thumb push while wearing it. We also made the sheath compatible with the Tek-Lok Belt System.

What can we say? Off-Grid loves big belly blades, and the Alpha-Dog is no exception. We cryogenically treated our D2 which enhances the excellent characteristics in D2 steel such as: durability, toughness, edge retention, strength, and corrosion resistance.
The design focus for the Off-Grid Alpha-Dog was simply...heavy-duty & hard-use. Weighing close to a pound, and a 5mm thick slab of Cryo D2 steel, the Alpha-Dog will take on any and all rough use projects.

We tested multiple versions of the Alpha-Dog handle using 3D printing technology. We wanted to make the most comfortable handle possible for all-day use and excellent control, and to be honest, we did it. We also added a "pinch-grip" design when you want to choke up for detailed work or food prep. The G10 has grippy texture to add to the overall ergonomic look and feel.
We feel the sheath should be just as important as the knife itself. The Alpha-Dog sheath is strong, tough, comfortable and has just the right amount of retention. The Alpha-Dog will ride low on your hip and stay out of the way, and always ready to deploy with one hand using the thumb ramp design. The nylon belt loop locks over your belt using a snap closure and Velcro for extra security. We also made the sheath compatible with the Tek-Lok belt system.
