This knife is awesome!! i agree the quality is amazing for the price i do not know how you can make it much better. Fits in the hand great with no hot spots. It was a little tight to start with but i like this as i do not feel it will open in my pocket. The snap sound it makes when it opens even scares me and i know it is about to happen. Beautiful craftsmanship and design. i will be more Off-Grid products in the future.

    Darn amazing knife!

Posted by Jason W. on May 10th 2018

I am a low voltage electrician. I use a knife daily. I use it for opening boxes, cutting casing off of wire, cutting wire...I have carried a knife since I was 12.
Until recently I carried a Benchmade (I live in Oregon, they are 3 miles up the road...). No complaints with it. I also own K-Bar, Kershaw, Spyderco knives. Bought the Hawkbill on a whim. It replaced my Benchmade the next day! It was hefty, well built, sharp as hell out of the box (shaved my arm to see) and flat out impressive. Beat the hell out of it for a week. It’s AUS 8 steel so it isn’t as hard as my Benchmade, but it easily gets a razor sharp edge with little effort. It’s now my EDC. Also bought the Cleaver from Off Grid. Same result.
The other cool thing is I sent an email to the company, and the guy who designed the Hawkbill emailed me back! In less than 6 hours! Talk about service and getting to someone who knows the product.
And no, I have not been given a sample, paid for my time etc. I’m a full paying customer.

    Great knife
    Great price.

5.0 out of 5 starsVery well-made, very heavy duty knife.

This is a very heavy duty knife. Very large, very thick, very sturdy. As far as whether or not it would be good for everyday carry, simply a matter of opinion and whether or not you like a large Hefty knife. Some might find it too bulky or too heavy While others might enjoy those particular features. Personally I absolutely love it.

I knew this would be an awesome blade from off grid, but it is even more of a beast than I expected. Will be buying more off grid blades.

This actually is an outstanding piece of equipment. Not small. Would never call it pocket knife although that's where it is when I carry it. Just qualifies as legal concealed carry in Florida.

5.0 out of 5 starsOne of the best knives I own, and WAY less expensive than it's comparable counterparts!

    It's Big & Solid!
I was looking for something beefy that I could take camping, keep with me working around in the yard, fishing, hunting, etc... and it would do everything I needed. In a world where everything is moving toward lighter, sleeker, and costly this knife is the exact opposite, and a welcomed revert back to solid quality.
If you're looking for something to fit in your dress slacks for work or church, this isn't it. I have another EDC for my 9-5. But when I walk out of the house with my boots on, this comes with me.
It has some weight to it, but it's good weight and not too much to weigh you down. The deep-pocket clip keeps it in place and gives the appearance of a smaller knife. The blade comes Shave-Sharp right out of the box, deploys, and locks in as it should. One of the few AO knives that I didn't have to oil and work-in upon receiving. There is ZERO lateral blade movement and the alignment is spot-on. Oh, and it's AUS8, 'Nuff said. I was using on my workbench, made some cuts, dropped it tip down and she stuck about 1/4" into the hardwood, no wobble and no fear of the tip breaking. There's something to be said for that as well.
Beefy handle with a good grip for a larger hand. Great Knife for a GREAT price. Definitely the best knife I have in my collection for the price point.

5.0 out of 5 starsRidiculous fantastic quality for the price.

Super impressed with the quality of this knife. I have hundreds of knives in my collection ranging from $20.00- $2,000.00 and this one rivals even some of my pricey Benchmade and spyderco knives. It’s a beefy monster of a knife and comes out of the box with a ridiculously sharp cutting edge. I bought this one to see if the quality was as good as what other reviewers were claiming. I can now say I’ll be adding the rest of this companies knives to my collection.

5.0 out of 5 starsSolid American made knife
    ByErnest M.on February 14, 2018
I collect mostly older Americana knives, German makers, quality and time tested. I believe this company is going to be next in that line. The Hawkbill is a solid quality made knife, with fit and finish comparable to knives costing 2 and 3X as much. The Hawkbill is the second in my collection from Off-Grid. Becoming the one I reach for when a small folder could do the job. I love the feel, weight and function, specially the Hawkbill getting detailed cutting from such a large knife is rare. Trudy a grate design, grate knife!. I will be getting more from Off-Grid.

5.0 out of 5 starsGotta luv the "thwack"
    ByAmazon Customeron February 2, 2018
Just received one of these and what a cool design. The Hawkbill has one of the most unique blade shapes of all the knives I own. It opens with a "thwack" and feels absolutely solid and in the hand. The 4mm blade stock is honed to a razor sharp edge & hawkbill tip and the wide gimping on the top gives your thumb a great resting place. The G-10 scales are grippy and perfectly finished plus there's plenty of relief to access the liner lock bar. This knife tips the scales at 7.4oz, so it's not a lightweight by any means. Don't let that hold you back though because the excellent clip makes the beefy knife ride easily in the pocket. This knife exudes confidence in your hand and looks menacing with its trademark blade design. This knife has far exceeded my expectations and it is priced to be a decimate the competition. Although I can't think of anything close to its design that can compete.
